PreenshotSupport
- Click the Preenshot icon in the menu bar to capture an area. Right-click the icon for the full menu.
- Press ⌃⇧B to capture and open Beautify, or ⌃⇧2 for a plain area capture. Change shortcuts in Settings → Hotkeys.
- Replay the tour any time: right-click the menu bar icon and choose Show Tutorial….
Captures are blank or Preenshot keeps asking for permission
Preenshot needs Screen Recording permission to take screenshots. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording (called Screen & System Audio Recording on newer macOS), turn on Preenshot, then quit and reopen the app. If Preenshot is listed but captures still fail, remove it with the minus button, add it again and reopen the app.
Free, trial and Pro
- Try everything free for 3 days: choose Start 3-day free trial after the tour or in the Upgrade window. It’s a free in-app purchase: nothing is charged, nothing renews, and it’s tied to your Apple Account, so it can be used once.
- Free includes 3 shots a day, basic Beautify and a small “Made with Preenshot” watermark.
- Preenshot Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited shots and every Pro feature, with Family Sharing.
Restoring a purchase
On a new Mac or after reinstalling, open Settings → Pro and click Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. This also restores a free trial you already started, with its original end date.
Preenshot Cloud (share links)
Preenshot Cloud is an optional monthly subscription that turns a beautified screenshot into a link you can paste anywhere. New subscribers may get a free trial; the App Store shows the price and trial before you confirm. Manage your links in History → Shared Links, where you can copy or delete them.
To cancel, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your screenshots stay on your Mac unless you create a share link. Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
